Position: Deputy Manager
Salary: £ 35 - 38k / annum
Location: Oxford, Marston (3 miles from Oxford City Centre)
Description: Government run children’s homes, (one for boys and one for girls, each with 6 bed capacity) working with the most traumatised, challenging and vulnerable young people in the county, who have backgrounds such as physical, emotional and sexual abuse, neglect and deprivation.
Background

You will work in a children’s home (6 bed capacity) for boys or girls aged 12-17 years with emotional and behavioural difficulties. The aim is to provide stable, high quality long-term placements. You will be supporting the Home Manager in your role, including supervision and support of staff, organisational elements, and injecting energy and motivation into the workplace.


Role
Your role a Deputy Children’s Home manager includes amongst others:
- Delivering best practice for children in care, including compliance with UK legislation
- Engaging with children and their families, work in partnership
- Implementation of Placement Plans addressing the needs of the children / young people
- Recruitment, induction, supervision and professional development of staff
- Supporting the management and efficient running of the Children’s Home as well as it’s budget.
Cerintele postului
o Social Work / Social Pedagogy qualification
o Minimum of 2 years experience as senior team member, involving some aspects of staff supervision and operational management
o Significant experience working with children and young people with behavioural difficulties within the last 5 years
o Passion for delivering best practice to children in care
o Excellent English skills
