Title Team Leader (children 11-16 years)

Contract 6-12 months only

Salary £27,000
37 hour week, rota covering 7 days, no night shifts
To manage and mentor colleagues in actively responding to the needs of children and young people and their families. Using a child-centred approach, to assess and monitor workload of complex cases, prioritise tasks and responsibilities, and devise implementing and reviewing assessment plans. Assisting the Manager to manage the home on a day to day basis.
Line managing a designated number of social pedagogues.

The home has a capacity for up to 8 young people aged 11 to 16. Some young people will live in the home, other young people will have their needs assessed in the home. Shift work is required, including weekends, but no sleep-ins are required.
Cerintele postului

• Degree in Social Pedagogy, Social Work or other relevant social care qualification

• Significant experience of working directly with children and young people (a minimum of 4 years)

• Management experience, or demonstrate willingness and capability to develop management skills, in a residential setting.

• Ability to supervise and motivate staff effectively and to promote good team work

• Understanding of key worker best practice and ability to adopt this in managing key work staff, ensuring that their work meets standards

• Effective communication skills

• Ability to liaise effectively with outside agencies, including social worker practitioners, health, education and voluntary agencies

• Clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures

• Ability to maintain high standard of written records

• IT literate in Word, Excel and Outlook

• Commitment to diversity and equalities and evidence of putting this into practice
